An award for the bookers!

This award recognises an in-house events team who goes above and beyond to consistently deliver successful and innovative events.

What are the judges looking for?

  • Consistently high attention to detail, understanding and execution of event briefs
  • The team’s ability to be flexible when necessary
  • The team’s commitment to training and development
  • The team’s ability to innovate and be truly creative
  • The team’s ability to problem solve when faced with adversity

This award is for in-house event planners at brands and corporates. Nominees in 2017 included Expedia, Uber, Guardian Live, Swoon Editions and Festival of Media.

 

+ BEST ALL-ROUND EVENT EXPERIENCE

Deadline for Submissions: 5pm, August 20th

And another booker award. This award recognises an outstanding event, in the last 12 months, that has truly captured the imagination of audiences and created a high level of engagement.

What are the judges looking for?

  • Demonstrable evidence of event attendee satisfaction
  • High registration numbers or demand for the event
  • High engagement across social media channels before, during and after the event

This award is for agencies and in-house event organisers at brands and corporates.

 

Modern Venue Marketing Awards

+ Best Online Marketing

The Best Online Marketing award is for the marketing team at an independent venue. They can demonstrate that they have implemented a consistent, effective and original online marketing strategy to promote their venue offerings.

The award celebrates the venue which makes it simple for potential clients to find and learn about the venue online, uses engaging content to capture audience attention across marketing channels, and ultimately generates event enquiries.

+ Best Venue Portfolio Marketing

The Best Venue Portfolio Marketing award is for the marketing team who are responsible for a branded portfolio of two or more venues. They can demonstrate that they have implemented a consistent, effective and original online marketing strategy to promote their venue offerings across the brand.

The award celebrates the portfolio which makes it simple for potential clients to find and learn about the venues online, uses engaging content to capture audience attention across marketing channels, and ultimately generate client enquiries.

+ Venue Team of the Year

This award recognises an outstanding event sales team at a venue.

Entries for the Venue Team of the Year award will be judged against these key criteria:

  1. Measurability: The entrant has provided evidence showing commercial gains, such as revenue growth, as a direct result of their sales contribution.

  2. Customer-first: The entrant has shown that their sales approach is customer-focused and have value to the customer. At least one supporting document was submitted as an example.

  3. Consistency: The entrant has shown that their sales strategy has been implemented for at least 12 months.

What are the judges looking for?

  • Use of internal systems and processes to facilitate quick responses to enquiries
  • The quality and suitability of venues’ event proposals to clients
  • How venues facilitate great viewings for their clients, and sell their venues in person
  • How venues support their clients from the point of enquiry, through to the event date
  • The venue’s processes for adapting to accommodate client feedback

+ Unsung Hero

This award celebrates an outstanding member of staff at a venue. They are instrumental to the day-to-day running of a venue. They always go above and beyond for their clients. Most importantly, they deserve to be recognised.

Entries for the Unsung Hero award will be judged against these key criteria:

  1. Measurability: The entrant has provided evidence showing commercial gains, such as revenue growth, as direct or indirect result of their contribution.

  2. Customer-first: The entrant has shown that their approach is customer-focused and have value to the customer. At least two testimonials from colleagues or clients were submitted.

  3. Consistency: The entrant should have been a member of staff at the venue for at least 12 months.

+ Best All Round Use of Technology

This award recognises a venue’s outstanding overall use of technology, through integration, creative use in events and thought-leadership in the industry.

Entries for the Best All Round Use of Technology award will be judged against these key criteria:

  1. Use of Tech: The effective use of technology in event production and how the venue adapts its technology offering to varying events. At least one support document was provided.
  2. Communications: The venue’s ability to communicate their expertise in event technology to the client. At least one brochure, proposal or a combination of documents was provided.

+ Best Unique Venue

This award recognises a venue’s ability to offer a unique event experience. Entries for the Best Unique Venue award will be judged against these key criteria:

  1. Uniqueness: The venue is distinctive due to its history, architecture, or other attributes. At least one supporting document was provided.
  2. Originality: The entrant has shown that their venue is set apart from others in their field, either through creativity, resourcefulness or unconventionality. At least one supporting document was provided.
  3. Communications: The venue’s ability to communicate their uniqueness to the client. At least one brochure, proposal or a combination of documents was provided.

+ Best Newcomer

This awards celebrates the best new venue on the events scene over the last 12 months.

Entries for the Best Newcomer award will be judged against these key criteria:

  1. Versatility: The venue's suitability to host a wide range of events. At least one supporting document was provided.
  2. Facilities: The venue is an ideal option for events due to its high quality facilities. At least one supporting document was provided.
  3. Accessibility: The entrant has shown that their venue provides an inclusive and accessible environment for visitors. At least one supporting document was submitted.
  4. Customer-first: The entrant has shown that their sales approach is customer-focused and have value to the customer. At least one supporting document was submitted.

+ Greenest Venue

This award recognises a venue’s commitment to going green through successful environmentally-friendly initiatives, from the use of catering to waste management.

Entries for the Greenest Venue award will be judged against these key criteria:

  1. Knowledge: The entrant has shown their expertise in the green initiatives, and ability to communicate this knowledge. At least one supporting document was provided.
  2. Processes: The entrant has shown that they implement an effective waste and recycling programme.
  3. Communications: The venue’s ability to communicate their environmentally-friendly initiatives to the client. At least one brochure, proposal or a combination of documents was provided.

+ Venue in the Community

This award recognises a venue’s contribution to the wider community around them or to charitable enterprises, through successful CSR initiatives, community engagement and thought leadership.

Entries for the Venue in the Community award will be judged against these key criteria:

  1. Continuous Contribution: The entrant has demonstrated their sustained contribution to a charity or social enterprise with at least one supporting document.
  2. CSR: The entrant has shown that they have an effective CSR programme built into the fabric of the venue’s ethos and bottom line. At least one supporting document was provided.
